  • Community Potluck and Egg Hunt

    Please join us for this annual Spring Celebration and Grand Re-opening! Potluck starts at 10 am. Egg Hunt starts at 12 noon. Trade Circle and Musical Jam Session starts at 2 pm. Celebration continues until dark, weather permitting. Free entry to all friends. All ages and families welcomed and encouraged to attend. Free parking during event. Well-behaved pets on leash at all times welcomed. Potluck contributions not required for attendance. Potluck items can be food or drinks. Please label blended food dishes with ingredients for those with dietary concerns. Bring musical instruments and drums for the Music Jam Session. Bring trade items and artisanal crafts for the Trade Circle. Be sure to bring a coat, sun hat, chair or picnic blanket for the potluck, and wear good shoes for the Egg Hunt, as the Big Meadow may be WET OR BOGGY in some places.   • Annual Children's Faire

    Join Valley Oak Children’s Services for our Annual Children’s Faire on April 18th. This FREE family event will take place at the Downtown Chico City Plaza from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. There will be family fun activities, children's performances, ice cream from Shuberts Ice Cream & Candy (while supplies last), face painting by Funny Faces, community resources, a juggler, and more! Come out and help us celebrate our 40th Anniversary serving our community.
  • Paradise Cook-Off

    Join us to COOK, TASTE and SPONSOR a 4-Course Cooking Competition
    This tasting event will feature master and amateur chefs demonstrating their culinary skills and special recipes. Each dish entered will fall into one of four categories: appetizers, side dishes, entrees/BBQ, and desserts.
    The evening will include a sampling of 16 dishes, cash bar, live entertainment and a raffle. We have 3 local celebrity judges select the prestigious Golden Spoon and Best Decorated Station and our 300 tickets holders vote for the People’s Choice award.
    Tickets $15 each or $50 for a family of 4.

  • Walk for Life 2020

    One Mile Recreation Area, South Park Drive, Chico, CA 95928, USA

    This year's theme is “Life in Full Bloom” and it will be held on April 25 at One Mile Recreation Area by the picnic tables.

    This event is FREE, family-friendly and will include a bounce house, face painting, crafts, and a beautiful walk in Bidwell Park.

    Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the most money raised in 3 different categories. Every walker is entered to win one of our amazing raffle prizes and a FREE lunch following the walk.

    Catering will be provided by Smokin’ Moe’s BBQ.

    Online Registration will close on April 23, 2020 @ 8pm

    Non registered walkers can register the day of the event at 9:30 am

    Check-in starts at 9:00 am

    Walk starts at 10:30 am

    Minors must have liability release signed by parent/guardian to participate in parade and events.
    Minors must wear helmets to participate in Pick-Up Race.

    No studs in parade or on grounds.
    All dogs must be on leash.
